FAQ | Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Marinelli's Unique?
All Marinelli sauces are meticulously small batch produced by hand in our very own facility. We employ strict guidelines for authenticity and taste that go far beyond any other pasta sauces.
Do Marinelli sauces contain any sugars or sweeteners?
We never use any sugar or artificial sweeteners in our sauces. Only the sweetest and ripest tomatoes are hand selected and processed within a few hours of harvest to preserve the natural sweetness of the Tomato. Additionally we do not use carrots or carrot puree like many imported sauces in order to mask the acidity of their low quality tomatoes.
Why does Marinelli's use Fresh Cold pressed C.O.O.C. olive oil in comparison to other brands?
Most Olive oils used for commercial food products contain Olive Oil of inferior quality. It is estimated that up to 75% of all imported Olive oils do not meet Extra Virgin status. Even though our Oil costs as much as four times more than our competitors we feel good knowing that you are getting the real thing
What is the shelf life of Marinelli's?
Approx 2 years (unopened) but it's better to use them sooner than later. After opening we recommend you refrigerate and consume within a day or so.
Why are your boxes and jars individually numbered?
This is done so that we can track each batch.
Who actually makes Marinelli's sauces?
Marinelli sauces are made by the Marinelli family. Executive Chef Adriano Marinelli personally runs the bottling line everyday. Most other commercial sauces are produced in large facilities co-packing brands for various customers with a focus on low cost and speed.
What's the best way to use Marinelli's
There are so many diverse ways to use Marinelli sauces that we could not list them all. However, if you are using them for pasta here is the very best way to prepare.. 1. In a large saucepan add one full jar of Marinelli True along with 1/4 cup of EVOO and bring to a simmer (3-4 minutes) and then remove from heat. 2. Spoon out 1/2 of the sauce from the saucepan and reserve. 3. Once your pasta is almost cooked (just before the al dente stage), drain and add directly into the saucepan and gently toss. 4. Place pan back on the heat for final cooking (1 minute approx.) and then plate. 5. Add extra sauce to your plated pasta from what was reserved if desired. 6. Grate only authentic Parmiggiano Reggiano (aged 24-36months) on top of the pasta just before eating!
How are Marinelli sauces certified?
You may have noticed that other sauces have certification claims without real third party certification. All five Marinelli certifications are verified through a third party and we do this for customer safety and our own accountability. It costs more but we feel that for the consumer who demands the very best this is important for them.
Why the outer box and is your packaging recyclable?
We use an outer box to protect the sauce from light and to preserve freshness. Yes, all of our packaging is recyclable. Cartons are SFI sourced to ensure sustainability and are printed with environmentally friendly water based inks. The jars are also recyclable and already contain a percentage of recycled glass content.
Does Marinelli use any preservatives?
There are no added preservatives, colors or artificial flavorings in the sauces.
